Colorwheel has the best team of artisan painters in Milwaukee – part of our success! We operate primarily with W2 employees, not many subs. For this reason, we need full-time painters who want to work 12 months a year (aside from planned vacation/personal days). We’re also open to part-time options and occasionally have apprenticeship opportunities available.

Ideal Candidate

We need people who aren’t just talented at painting but excel at providing great customer service to our residential and commercial clients. Some of the main attributes we look for are being polite, respectful, timely, organized, detailed, motivated, experienced, proactive, and possessing a great attitude.

We’ll grade the test at our earliest convenience and then contact you. We’ll let you know our interest level and how you did. Thank you very much for your interest in painting with us!

Upon receiving a properly done application email:

  • If qualified, you’ll be invited to take our written painter’s test.
  • Most skilled applicants take 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • During testing, you’ll likely interact with other painters or management.

Become A Colorwheel Wallpaper Specialist

We’re seeking skilled wallpaper hangers or, as some would say, wallpaper installers. If you’ve got the experience and skills, we’d love to meet you. This is a huge and growing part of our business. Are You A Subcontractor?

Colorwheel uses subs occasionally, and you’re encouraged to join our larger team. That said, we only use subcontractors who’ve been well-vetted. To get this application started, please email mike@remodelandpaint.com. To apply as one of our subcontractors, you must:

  1. Have photos of multiple projects you’ve completed.
  2. Have references for those same jobs or other job sites we can visit.
  3. Provide proof of insurance, including general liability with an E&O coverage, worker’s comp if applicable, commercial auto, and an umbrella policy preferred.
  4. Disclose team info, such as how many, who they are, and their years of experience.
  5. Tell us your specialties and the jobs you can’t handle.
  6. Tell us about your equipment: sprayers, type of sprayer, ladders, scaffolding, etc.
  7. Sign our subcontractor agreement.
