Serving the Greater Southeast Wisconsin Area

In Southeast Wisconsin Careful Homeowners Have Wallpaper Installed By Colorwheel Painting

Wallpaper is a spectacular way to update any room of any kind and give it a unique presence. While it’s a somewhat common service we provide, most Southeast Wisconsin homeowners have no clue how niche of a skill it is. We’re one of maybe two providers in the area with fully-trained and educated wallpaper specialists who’ve gone to the official U.S. wallpaper installation school!

Tools of the trade, preparation, primers, liners, adhesives, pattern matching, seams, and seaming techniques, layout, there’s a lot to it. And we haven’t even touched on the actual wallpaper options themselves. There are many technicalities to consider to ensure old wallpaper is properly removed and new wallpaper is installed with precise attention to detail.

There are but a few wallpaper hangers in the Milwaukee Metro area. We’re the higher-caliber professional choice. As such, our pricing isn’t going to be your cheapest option. The difference is in our personalized process, spotless results, follow-through, and follow-up.

Consider that typically, only a small portion of your investment goes to the wallpaper itself. So, in reality, you’re paying a little more to not have to deal with the many things that can go wrong when an inexperienced person tries to install your wallpaper. And this sure isn’t the paper of the 1970s, 80s, and 1990s.

Our workmanship is the kind you don’t have to get redone. We’re diligent. We’re experienced. And our specialists’ process is of the highest standard in our country, strictly by the WIA book. We’re going to meet you, explore the space together, get to know you a bit, consult with you, and ensure every aspect of the project gets you excited! Southeast Wisconsin‘s Wallpaper Installation FAQs

Paper orders are assembled based on the type of paper, its repeat, if any, waste factors, and other factors that a trained technician will understand. When you hire Colorwheel, our installers will tell you the amount, and we order a bit of extra so that any future need (damage, failure, etc.) can be addressed using the same lot.

Smooth and clean is the basic requirement. Crack free, hole free. If your walls aren’t there, we can get them there.

Paper installation falls into a trip charge plus our hourly rate for almost every installation job. In some cases, we’ll provide a set price.

This answer comes down to the wall texture and whether or not you’re willing to spend the money to get to a smooth surface. The smoother the walls (or ceiling), the better the fit.

This is a matter of discussion. The answer comes from several factors like kids, pets, and location. By default, the less risk of damage, the better the fit for delicate paper. And, the more risk of damage with insisting on a paper, the more we lean toward heavy, durable coverings.

Yes and no. It can be. But to do so typically requires a backing liner and a thicker paper. The pattern selection will impact this as well.

There are several local options, and more are popping up. We have a local go-to we share with folks, for sure. A quick internet search near you may yield other results. And online, with samples being shipped, is certainly an option, too.

A liner is most often needed when your walls have texture or cracks, as any texture is prone to telegraph or transfer below surface topography through to the surface. Some papers are thicker than others, some are more forgiving than others, and patterns, too. So a discussion with our installer is prudent.
